The Key To Eyeliner Is Confidence

Master Different Eyeliner Looks

If you can overcome the fear of messing up, you’re already 90% of the way there. This is true for many aspects of life, but it’s especially vital when applying eyeliner – no matter if you want a more natural or dramatic look.

To create the appearance of bigger eyes, use liner in a stealthy way so it’s invisible. If you want to smoke out your French-girl eye, follow these same steps but accept that perfection is impossible. A sharp cat-eye looks best when it’s not perfect.

After you’ve decided on the look you want, select your liner and approach the mirror confident with either Q-tips or cotton balls in hand. Keep in mind that it’s easy to smudge liner into a sultry haze or wipe it away entirely.

Liquid or Pencil Eyeliner?

A lot of people might think that liquid liner is too intense, but in reality it’s perfect for giving your eyes a little bit of definition. If you ink the upper outer lash line with just a small amount of liquid liner and then wipe away any excess with a Q-tip, your eyes will stand out without looking like you’re wearing a ton of makeup.

This tip is perfect for those of you who want to make your eyes appear bigger without loading on extra mascara.

Cat-eye enthusiasts will love liquid liner for its ability create a bold look, while pencil is ideal for those who prefer softer lines or a ‘smoked out’ appearance.

100% Pure’s Long Last Liquid Eyeliner. For an intense black liquid liner that lasts all day long, look no further than our micronized black tea leaves formula.

100% Pure’s Long Last Pencil Liner. This creamy, long-lasting eyeliner pencil glides easily onto lids to line and define your eyes. It is also infused with jojoba oil to nourish skin.

For Achieving Natural Definition:

If you want a natural look, use either liquid or pencil liner. First, place your chin forward and use one finger to lift your lid up close to the mirror. Next, sketch a small back-and-forth line in between your lashes as you draw the liner on.

Hynt Beauty Forte High Definition Eye Liner. This coconut oil-based formulation is free of irritants, making it perfect for those with sensitive eyes. It’s also gluten-free, vegan, PETA approved and made without any petroleum-based ingredients or titanium dioxide. Choose from a true black or deep dark brown.

The Perfect Smoky Eye

If you want a flattering effect, use a pencil with rich pigments that blend easily. First, sketch along your lash line with the pencil as close to your lashes as possible. Then, use your finger (or the smudge tool on the back of the pencil) to create a worn-in look.

This style looks great on upper or lower lashes, but it’s even better when done on both sets of eyelashes. After that, decide how much more you want to build up the look. Before you use a pencil liner, warm it up with your fingers; the heat will help bring out the pigment and make for a smoother application.

Lily Lolo Eye Liner. This creamy eyeliner offers long-lasting wear and a rich color payoff that will make it a staple in your makeup bag. Made with jojoba oil and shea butter to condition sensitive skin, it can be used for anything from subtle definition to a smudgable, smoky eye.
