Why Do You Need a Luminizer?

How to Create a Glowing Look with a Luminizer

What is Luminizer? Is it a highlighter or an illuminator? The answer is both! This product is essential for creating skin that looks flawless, healthy, and radiant. We’ll help you understand why this product is worth more than its weight in gold, and how you can use it to achieve the perfect complexion.

What Is the Definition of a Luminizer?

A luminizer is a product that every cosmetic bag should have. It is a combination of an illuminator and a highlighter. Let’s take a look at the functions of both before we explore how they combine to make this incredible product.

  • Highlighters are products used to bring attention to certain areas of your face by making them appear brighter. They have been around for many years and are commonly used on the cheekbones and bridge of the nose.
  • Many highlighters on the market today tend to have too much sparkle for subtle everyday use. The particles in these powders are usually so large that they end up looking glittery on your skin, which may be okay for a night out clubbing in your twenties, but it’s not appropriate for every day.
  • The illuminator was created as a response to the cakey trends of the 80s and 90s. Back then, people wanted their skin to look more natural and not caked in makeup. So, artists mixed luminescent products with foundation to achieve an all-over glow.
  • The main issue people take with illuminators is the need for all-over application. We only see this level of shine in places like runways or photography, but your average person doesn’t require that same amount for their 9-5 job.

The luminizer is the perfect combination of a highlighter and an illuminator. It’s designed to highlight specific areas of your skin while also creating a believable health and radiance that isn’t over-the-top.

Who Created the Luminizer?

100% Pure’s founder knows a thing or two about creating stunning looks that turn heads, having worked in the fashion industry for years. However, when she started working with Victoria’s Secret models, she needed to find a way to create a natural-looking sun-kissed effect that wouldn’t look overstated or glittery.

The need to create something new led our founder to invent a light-reflective product that used only clean, hydrating ingredients. She wanted to trademark the name “100% Pure Luminizer” for her sacred creation, but her legal team advised against it.

Nowadays, almost every cosmetic company has their own version of the luminizer—the product our founder made famous.

What’s the Purpose of Using a Luminizer?

What are the benefits of using a luminizer? Luminizers work to create the look of healthy and glowing skin. They are especially wonderful for aging skin, which tends to naturally lose moisture. Luminizer helps hydrate and eliminate the look of dry, caked-on makeup that can settle into fine lines and wrinkles. Used correctly, luminizer has amazing benefits!

Highlights Your Best Features

Luminizer is a product that creates structure for the face and helps light reflect on elevated areas, such as the bridge of your nose, cheekbones, and center of your eyelids. Highlighter only offers glitter and sparkle whereas luminizer provides brilliance and shimmer, it creates a Natural Glow.

Unnatural “glow” is often seen when an illuminator is used all over the face. Rather than looking ethereal, you may look like you just came from a rave and haven’t slept in days. On the other hand, using a luminizer will give your skin a healthy appearance by help adding light reflection that looks believable. The goal should be to look hydrated and healthy as opposed to shiny or oily

It Nourishes Your Skin

Moreover, many highlighters and illuminators on the market are stuffed with skin-harming ingredients and sometimes even contain environmentally toxic particles. Conventional formulas often leave your face looking greasy or clog pores. But 100% Pure’s Fruit Pigmented Gemmed Luminizer contains only pure, safe ingredients that are fit for consumption— plus mica mineral for a natural radiance (never any glitter).

What’s the Difference Between a Luminizer and a Highlighter?

Luminizer doesn’t highlight as much as it hydrates to give you a gentle glow. Highlighters can be tough to use and often result in an unnatural look because they’re darker and harder to blend. Luminizers, on the other hand, blend easily into your skin without dehydrating it like highlighters do.

How to Apply Luminizer?

Some of our favorite places to use luminizer are:

  • The tops of cheekbones for a natural highlight.
  • Bridge of the nose, to bring attention to shadowy areas.
  • On the centers eyelids as an alternative or addition eyeshadow color (or in place of highlighter if you have sensitive skin).
  • Mixed with lipstick on the bow lips for extra shine and definition without having to rely on lip gloss that can wear off unevenly or get stick .
  • Collarbones & shoulders – always dusted with powder luminizer for subtle sexy shimmer during summertime soirees and special occasionswhen you want your skin look catching reflecting candlelight.. just like diamond dusting! 😉
  • Shins & Knuckles will also pop when accentuated this wayespecially in evening light.

Types of Luminizer

There are a few different types of luminizers, including creams, sticks, and powders. You can also find products that work like luminizers but add a sun-kissed bronzed look to the skin.

Cream

Cream luminizers are best for all skin types and easy to blend. Apply with your finger or a small brush–you’ll find the application process is seamless!

Stick

Stick luminizers are creams that come in a tube. If you’re short on time, these may be easier to apply than other types of luminizers. You can also use a brush with stick luminizers, although the texture of some products may make it difficult to get enough product on your brush.

Powder

For users with exceptionally oily skin, a powder luminizer may work well. However, be certain to use a long-lasting powder that is formulated with safe and clean ingredients. Choose a powder that will sit on top of the skin instead of rapidly absorbing.

Bronzer

If you’re looking for a more natural-looking tan, opt for a bronzer instead of damaging your skin with harmful UV rays. This bronzer will give you the same hydrated and slightly shimmery glow, but in a deeper shade that looks like you spent all day lounging on the beach.

Characteristics to Consider When Purchasing a Luminizer

With the recent popularity of luminizers, it’s easy to forget that not all products are created equal. In fact, many include ingredients that should nowhere near your skin! However, here at 100% Pure, we use only quality ingredients in our luminizer lineup.

Coconut Oil

Not only is our coconut oil organic, but it’s raw and cold centrifuged. This process is different from cold-pressing because it doesn’t allow any heat exposure to the oil, which eliminates some of its healthful benefits. Not only is our coconut oil grade the best you can get, it’s also packed with nourishing ingredients for your skin like caprylic acid which has antimicrobial effects.

Vitamin E

Vitamin E is an excellent way to improve the appearance of your skin. It can help fading fine lines and wrinkles, as well keeping your skin conditioned. Most cosmetics get their Vitamin E from soy, but 100% Pure sources it from sunflower oil instead; a purer method which results in a cleaner product.

Castor Seed Oil

Castor seed oil is an excellent ingredient for deeply hydrated and healthy skin. Our team loves to use it in our luminizers because it creates a natural dewy look, giving your skin the perfect amount of shine and texture.

Luminizer and Beauty Routine

You don’t need to be a specific age to enjoy the benefits of a luminizer! They help give your skin an appearance of health, radiance, and beauty. Unlike cakey makeup that can cause breakouts and make you look older than you are, luminizers enhance your natural features without all the fuss.

Luminizers brighten the skin without looking overdone. 100% Pure was the first company to develop luminizers, and we offer them in flattering shades for every skin tone. You can apply our luminizers with your finger or a makeup brush for a natural melt-into-your-skin look.

Other products may boast a long-lasting luminous finish, but they don’t compare to ours. In fact, you can touch up your makeup as much as you want without worrying about it looking cakey or clogging your pores–our luminizer actually hydrates and adds beneficial ingredients to your skin with every use!

How Much Ritz Is Enough?

You don’t need to cake on makeup, even if you’re aiming for a luxurious look. A little luminizer creates believable drama and beauty that will turn heads.
