The Importance of PM Skincare for Acne-Prone Skin

The Perfect Nightcap

If you have acne-prone skin, it’s important to have a good skincare routine that not only helps to control breakouts but also nourishes and supports the overall health of your skin. A good nighttime skincare routine is especially important, as it allows your skin to repair and rejuvenate while you sleep. In this blog post, we’ll be discussing a PM skincare routine for acne-prone skin that focuses on cleansing, exfoliating, hydrating, and treating.

Step 1: Cleansing

The first step in any skincare routine is cleansing. For acne-prone skin, it’s important to use a cleanser that removes excess oil and impurities without stripping the skin of its natural moisture. Look for a gentle, non-comedogenic cleanser that contains salicylic acid, which helps to unclog pores and reduce inflammation.

One great option is the Lavender Oat Milk Soothing Cleanser, which is formulated specifically for oily, acne-prone skin. It contains colloidal oatmeal, soothing rose petals and deeply purifying lavender. To use, simply wet your face with warm water, apply a small amount of the cleanser, and massage gently for 30-60 seconds before rinsing thoroughly.

Step 2: Exfoliating

Exfoliating is an important step in any skincare routine, but it’s especially important for acne-prone skin. By removing dead skin cells and unclogging pores, exfoliation helps to prevent breakouts and improve overall skin texture. However, it’s important to use a gentle exfoliant that won’t irritate or damage the skin.

One great option is the ELEMIS Papaya Enzyme Peel, which contains Papaya and pineapple enzymes to unclog pores and exfoliate the skin. To use, simply apply a small amount to a cotton pad and swipe over your face, avoiding the eye area.

Step 3: Hydrating

Acne-prone skin can often be dehydrated, which can lead to overproduction of oil and more breakouts. That’s why it’s important to hydrate your skin with a lightweight, oil-free moisturizer that won’t clog pores. Look for a moisturizer that contains ingredients like hyaluronic acid, which helps to hydrate the skin without adding extra oil.

One great option is the Multi-Vitamin + Antioxidants Potent PM Serum, which contains vitaamin c to hydrate the skin and maintain its moisture balance. It’s also oil-free and non-comedogenic, so it won’t clog pores or cause breakouts. To use, simply apply a small amount to your face and neck after cleansing and exfoliating.

Step 4: Treating

The final step in your PM skincare routine for acne-prone skin is to treat any active breakouts or blemishes with a targeted treatment. Look for a treatment that contains ingredients like benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid, which help to kill acne-causing bacteria and reduce inflammation.

One great option is the Tea Tree Concentrated Spot Treatment, which contains Witch hazel  to treat and prevent acne. It’s also formulated with Eucalyptus Essential Oil to soothe and calm the skin. To use, simply apply a thin layer to your face, focusing on any areas of active breakouts or blemishes.

Additional Tip:

Always use sunscreen during the day to protect your skin from further damage and prevent dark spots and scarring. Look for a non-comedogenic, oil-free sunscreen with at least SPF 30.
