Cake Face Soaping Lotion – A Handmade Treat for Your Skin

These handmade lotions are shipped to you so fresh, they don’t require synthetic preservatives!

For our long time readers (we love you and thank you!), you’re familiar with why we write these blogs. We’re committed to bringing the fun back into skin care and make up again, and you can’t exactly call them self care until you can finally stop worrying over the ingredients in them.

While clean beauty is finally entering the mainstream, we’d also like to give as much support as we can to off-the-radar creators who represent the beginning of the movement. That’s right, the good ol’, handmade, small batches of products, shipped to you so fresh that they don’t require any synthetic preservatives. We were taken down memory lane when we first came across Cake Face Soaping, a brand based in New Orleans, Louisiana.

About Cake Face Soaping

After experiencing a chronic illness and learning more about alternative medicine, Kelsey Conner founded Cake Face Soaping in 2010. The brand has high standards in barring synthetic fragrances and toxic chemicals from their formulas, and keeping their products natural and clean.

Cake Face Soaping goes a step further than just offering clean ingredient lists. They were also designed to bring happiness to the person using their products. Think lavish ingredients like avocado oil, kaolin clay, and cocoa powder that are all aimed towards providing the most pampersome, delectable experience possible. Add to that some hand-selected essential oils to purify and uplift your mood. Have we mentioned that all of their products are cruelty-free and vegan too?

That said, including a Cake Face Soaping product in our first quarterly box was a no-brainer. We were looking for a final lotion to round out the box products, and truly provide a luxe finish to a skin care routine. We wanted the Free Bunni Box experience to be more a of a pamper session than a chore, and Cake Face Soaping certainly didn’t disappoint us there with their lotion product.

Cake Face Soaping Lotion

We know we previously said that cleansing is the most important step of your skin care routine. We’d say that moisturizer comes in a very close second. Cleansing is necessary to clear your skin and prep your pores for absorption of skin care products. However, a final finishing touch from a moisturizer is crucial to make sure those ingredients get to work their highest potential on your skin! This body cream from Cake Face Soaping contains luxe moisturizing ingredients to lock in nutrients, while still being lightweight enough on skin to not cause any discomfort or greasiness. Here are the superstar ingredients hard at work in this product:

Pistachio butter

DIY enthusiasts will be familiar with shea butter and cocoa butter, but how many of you have ever used anything with pistachio butter on your skin? 51% of the fats in pistachio butter is made up of oleic acid, which is an omega 9 fatty acid that helps keep skin moisturized and soft. 31% consists of linoleic acid, which is an essential fatty acid that many acne-prone people are deficient in. That said, pistachio butter offers a healthy balance of fats to keep your skin moisturized and balanced, plus high amounts of vitamin E and antioxidants to keep your skin protected. No wonder Cake Face Soaping made it the first ingredient in their lotion!

Grapeseed oil

In addition to containing a high amount of linoleic acid, grapeseed oil boasts another potent ingredient: resveratrol. Resveratrol is an antioxidant found in red wine, and is the reason why it’s associated with anti-aging properties. As an antioxidant, it’s known to quench free radicals that contribute to signs of aging and cancer.

Pumpkin seed butter

Pumpkin seeds contain high amounts of both oleic acid and linoleic acid, as well as a range of vitamins and minerals that are essential for healthy skin cell function.

How to use the Cake Face Soaping Lotion

In a skin care routine, moisturizers always go on last so you can be sure you’re sealing all those rich nutrients in. This body cream is perfect for use after a long steamy shower, when your skin is craving for moisture! Squeeze out a small amount first, as a little of this silky body lotion goes a long way. Gently massage into your skin in upward motions. Feel free to massage any extra amount into your face too! This lotion is any bathroom cabinet essential you’ll want to keep within reach.

The Free Bunni Box: A complete skin care routine you can use worry-free.

Featuring 5 full-sized products with robust, natural formulas. Use in the order listed for a daily pamper session to look forward to.
