The saying goes, “beauty starts from within,” and when it comes to your skin, that statement could not be more true. Healthy skin begins with using good quality skincare products filled with vitamins and natural ingredients.

What we consume has a direct correlation to our skin. A diet rich in healthy fats, antioxidants, vitamin C, collagen, and amino acids can be the dividing line between having fresh, glowing skin and having tired, puffy skin with wrinkles. Avocados:

Avocados are great for maintaining healthy, hydrated skin. Rich in poly- and monounsaturated fatty acids (such as omega-9’s), avocados help keep your skin looking firm, dewy and reduce redness or irritation. This superfruit is also full of antioxidant carotenoids that not only fight free radicals but also help maintain your skin’s water content and elasticity, meaning fewer wrinkles!

Salmon:

oily fish contains omega 3’s, a fat that does fabulous things for your skin such as protect it from the sun, help with repairing damage, and keep cell membranes healthy. These benefits lead to softer looking skin that is less likely to sustain more serious injuries.

Blueberries:

Eat blueberries to get antioxidants, which then help protect your skin from free radicals. Collagen damage is one of the many things that free radicals cause; wrinkles, dryness, and an overall aged appearance are other signs of weakened collagen. Blueberries aren’t only rich in taste; they’re also full of vitamin A. This helps normalize oil levels on your skin and is an excellent way to clear up acne-prone skin naturally.

Bone Broth:

Bone broth is fantastic for skin elasticity as it contains collagen, minerals like calcium and magnesium, and essential amino acids. The collagen in bone broth transforms into gelatin after being simmered for hours; when consumed, this helps keep skin toned, supple, and elastic. Bone broth’s gelatin also eases our digestive tract, which then combats inflammation—another element of aging.

Lemon:
